This is the journal of my Zandalari Paladin, Kholoc, on the Wyrmrest Accord US World of Warcraft server. Any text in this color is out of character. I have also decided to use the real life dates as opposed to in character dates. I hope you enjoy!
August 7, 2020
Today is the day.
Since the Horde came to Zandalar, I had been planning this, but today, I am finally ready.
I checked my bag, making sure all my writing supplies, my newly-purchased camera, my money, and the box I always keep with me were there. I had been staying at a small inn in the Zocalo for the past week, and before leaving, I gave the inkeeper, an old troll named Soc’aan, extra money for the great service.
I walked outside the inn, where a caravan brutosaur had stopped. I asked the driver if there was space, and, being told that there was, I climbed on. The brutosaur walked up to the bridge between the Zocalo and the Terrace of Crafters, surrounding the Dazar’alor pyramid.
From there, I walked all the way down the Terrace and to the Grand Bazaar. When I got to the Port of Zandalar, I recovered Iik’kili’ich, my direhorn, and rode her to the Golden Skipper, the ship who travels between the Echo Isles and Dazar’alor, which was just arriving. I was asked by one of the trolls on the ship to show my ticket, which I did. I began to write this as the Golden Skipper sailed out once more.
I think there might be a storm soon.
There was not a storm. The Golden Skipper landed at a dock on the easternmost island in the Echo Isles. Though tired, I rode Iik’kili’ich across the islands until I got to one on the westernmost island. Luckily, I found a Darkspear sailor who was willing (for a fair price) to sail me to the village of Sen’jin, across the water from the Echo Isles.
I found first a stable, where I stabled Iik’kili’ich, and then an inn, where I checked in. I am writing this in the inn now, and once I finish, I will sleep.
August 8, 2020
I woke up fairly late in Sen’jin. I put on my armor, paid for a small breakfast of eggs and fish, and left the building. I rode Iik’kili’ich out of the village.
I came to a wooden wall with two orcs guarding it. I asked one of them, who introduced himself as Brok, if that was the way to Razor Hill. He told me that the way I was going would lead to someplace called the Valley of Trials, so I turned around.
As I was riding towards Razor Hill, I came within inches of running over a boar which was in the road.
Razor Hill was bigger than I expected. I made my way over to the inn, paid, and went to sleep.
August 9, 2020
I am going to go to Orgrimmar today. First I’ll eat some food, of course, and then I’ll go.
It was bacon and eggs. Durotar has good food.
I’m in Orgrimmar now. The city is different from what I expected. It’s very late and I need to sleep. First, I will write about what happened today.
I walked Iik’kili’ich to the city gates. Once I was inside, I went to one of the guards – I think they call them grunts – and asked for directions to an inn. I chose one in a place called the Valley of Honor, and went there.
On my way, I met a blood elf woman. She asked me about Iik’kili’ich, who seemed to like her, and we talked for a little while. Interestingly, because of Chan’k’áak’náabo’, she thought I was a shaman.
Eventually, she had to leave, and I went to the inn itself. It was very busy, and I saw people of more races than I had ever seen before. I went upstairs and sat by a table. A vulpera walked up to me and asked me if I wanted to use the hookah that had gone unnoticed until then. After some deliberation, I agreed, reasoning that my lungs would regenerate any damage done to them.
An orc just walked up here with a flying squid following him. It said something in a language I don’t know, then a goblin started talking to the orc.
I think I am going to sleep now.
August 10, 2020
Today was not extremely eventful. I woke up in the inn, ate breakfast (two waffles, as I would later learn), and went out into the city.
I spent the first half of the day trying to buy a good and affordable map of the city. I eventually found one, and went out to look around.
I travelled to the jungle troll village in the Valley of Spirits. On my way, I passed a tauren district on the way there.
I then took what I had assumed to be a pipe, then realized was an elevator, up to the cliffs above Orgrimmar. I walked for a while, but eventually found I had no way down. It took me a while, but I climbed back up to the cliffs and returned to the Valley of Honor, where I am now. I would like to go to Thunder Bluff at some point, but I will stay in Orgrimmar for now.
August 12, 2020
Today I walked around the city again. I am enjoying being here.
I met another Zandalari (I don’t remember his name, but his Orcish was much better than mine). He gave me some kind of alcoholic beverage that I enjoyed but didn’t recognize. Then, a vulpera with two very large wasps approached us and asked us if we wanted honey. We both did.
Chan’k’áak’náabo’ splashed me a few times. He is very cold.
August 13, 2020
I met the Zandalari from yesterday again. We went to the Wyvern’s Tail and talked for a little bit, but we felt something looking at us so we went to sit on a rock in the middle of a pond. He had to leave, and I fell off of the rock.
Still dripping water, I went back into the Wyvern’s Tail. I sat there for a little while, and then, once I was dry, left again.
Outside, there was a vulpera playing music. We talked for a long time, along with a Mag’har woman with whom they were sitting. The conversation was very deep and philosophical.
I need to take new pictures soon.
August 15, 2020
(though I’m fairly certain it was multiple in character days)
Today, I went to Thunder Bluff.
Along with the vulpera man and the Mag’har woman whom I met two days ago, I walked across the entire Barrens and Mulgore. It took a very long time, but I think it was worth it.
An old orc stopped us, but after some conversation, he allowed us to pass.
Thunder Bluff is very high. Almost as high as the pyramid in Dazar’alor, I think.
There were mostly tauren there, as it is their city, but there were a few members of other races there as well.
We wandered around the city for a time, and then stopped near a large, enclosed oven/fire pit. There, I boiled water and made chocolate for the three of us.
As we walked back around the city, we found the home of High Chieftain Baine Bloodhoof. He was standing outside, but he didn’t talk to us – he probably had more important things on his mind.
We took the zeppelin back to Orgrimmar, and I am here now.
Today I adopted a child.
Yes, I know. His name is Zor’umi and he is 10 years old. He is a blood troll.
I met him while I was talking to another prelate, though an official one this time. The boy was there, but I didn’t see him until an orc came up to him and seemed to imply that he (the orc) was going to eat the child.
The two of us and another Zandalari took him to the orphanage, but the orphanage didn’t want him there. The other Zandalari (a dinomancer) said that his group, the Sons of Varok, would take the boy, and I said (after previously saying I wasn’t ready) that if they wouldn’t take him, I would.
The boy said he wanted me to adopt him. I did.
Aaaaah! What if I am a bad father? What if he gets hurt?
We went to Dazar’alor and we are staying in my mother’s house now.
August 18, 2020
I am a father now.
Yes, I know I already wrote that yesterday.
We went back to Orgrimmar – portals are useful – and went first to the Valley of Spirits. We then went to the Wyvern’s Tail, which apparently has apple juice as well as alcohol. Zor’umi drank his apple juice and we went to see one of his friends – an orc (Mag’har? I’m not sure) named Vorgeth.
Also, out of character for a moment, there was some stealthed rogue whose name was Floorboards or something like that and, whenever somebody walked past them, they would emote something like “Floorboards creak as Kholoc (in my case) walks over them.” So, if that person reads this, you are one of the funniest people.
The orc had given him a book yesterday, and he had read most of it by the time we saw each other again today. Vorgeth told me something in Shath’yar, which is the language of the Void, and a language which sometimes echoes its meaning in your mind, and made me feel… the best way I can describe it is purple.
Vorgeth decided that Zor’umi should go to him after he finishes reading the book. I allowed him, but only after being assured that I would be able to be there to protect him and make sure he was safe.
We then went back to the Wyvern’s Tail to order food – we both got ribs. We sat outside the building, talking for a long time about his biological parents, religion, death, philosophy, and politics.
We went back to the Wyvern’s Tail to get more to drink. A Zandalari pirate tried to recruit us, while his goblin friend tried to stop him, the former ironically playing into goblin stereotypes (the ones about underdescribing danger, not the ones about money) more than the actual goblin did.
We took a picture, and now we are here.
August 19, 2020
I have forgotten how much I dislike the cold.
Today I, Zor’umi, and two other trolls (one Zandalari whose name is Ri’kavek, and one Shatterspear who called himelf Fin) went to the goblin town of Everlook in Winterspring.
It was covered in snow, and freezing. They made sculptures out of snow – Zor’umi made a sculpture of G’huun, which didn’t go over well – and I tried to also, but it was too cold. I did, however, make a picture of a raven with my macuahuitl, so that’s something.
We then went into a building, where I bought a suit of armor in the human style, and then went to the inn to eat. While there, the other Zandalari and I discussed our respective histories and morality, interestingly enough.
August 20, 2020
Why are the loa so petty?
Today we went to Dazar’alor again. We went to the shrines of the Nazmir loa (Krag’wa and Bwonsamdi), so that they would know who Zor’umi was. Krag’wa had a lot of frogs jump on him, and Bwonsamdi froze him in place, forcing me to argue with him (Krag’wa convinced him to let Zor’umi go.)
We went back to Orgrimmar for a little while, then returned to Dazar’alor to get food. As we were eating, Akunda started talking to us, and showed Zor’umi and myself visions of the day he was born and of himself learning to use blood magic.
I feel bad to think this, but what I saw was quite gruesome. A prelate – though it may have been deserved – was exploded fairly painfully.
Obviously, I said something stupid, because Zor’umi cried a bit.
When we went back to Orgrimmar, we saw Vorgeth and his flying squid thing, who somehow made Zor’umi feel better.
I wish Sir Usher were here, even though there are many reasons why that would be impossible. He at least would know the right thing to say, and be a better father than I am being.
I hope something good happens soon.
August 21, 2020
You’d think the Legion’s defeat would make the other demons stop doing… demon-y things.
Apparently not. I was walking through Orgrimmar when I felt something pulling me towards Felwood.
When I got there there were two demon hunters, a demonic dog thing, and Zor’umi, who had been injured. I healed him, and we fled to a nearby settlement.
One of the demon hunters turned the demon dog into another demon hunter, and they explained that an eredar had turned the other demon hunter into a dog and that the dog’s mate was also involved.
We went back to Orgrimmar to rest.
August 22, 2020
Less interesting – though safer – things happened today.
I recieved a letter from a warrior who I met a few days ago, asking me to meet him at Kimbul’s temple (I need to figure out where that is).
I met Ri’kavek again, and he, I, two other Zandalari, and a vulpera ate fish. A rock started to talk to us, and Chan’k’áak’náabo’ was behaving oddly. And yes, I understand how weird that sounds.
August 23, 2020
Today I spoke to Vorgeth, the Zandalari from a few days ago (Pherrax), two goblins, a vulpera, and an orc priest.
We (I, Vorgeth, Pherrax) went into the Wyvern’s Tail, and drank some kind of alcoholic beverage. The people I mentioned showed up – it’s good to know people who other people know – and we started talking about politics. Later on, Pherrax told me he had something to tell me.
He claimed that
Princess Queen Talanji had ordered him to create some new organization, and he wanted me to be one of the people in charge. I think he’s lying, or misled. It sounds like a trap, or something with a negative consequence. I will have to ask Zor’umi.
The orc priest I mentioned showed up. I think I would like to go to Light’s Hope someday.
August 27, 2020
Orgrimmar has a lot of vulpera.
A whole bunch of them came into the Wyvern’s Tail today. One of them was an illusionist, who, among other things, turned into me. They also claimed to live in Stormwind.
Another vulpera was talking about taking over the world, and wanted me to sign a contract (I refused.)
Also I think there was a gnome there?
August 28, 2020
I met another blood troll today.
I don’t remember his name, but he was in the Wyvern’s Tail. He assumed (not unwarrantedly, considering my occupation) that I would have him arrested. I didn’t, and I like to think that I wouldn’t do that in any circumstance.
A vulpera sat next to me, and then an orc asked them where their cat was, for whatever reason. Nothing else really happened.
August 29, 2020
Apparently not all demons are evil.
Today, in the Wyvern’s Tail, a Forsaken was acting as bartender. He made a weird but surprisingly good drink. I drank it, as one does to a drink.
Another Zandalari with a bird mask came up to me and asked me if I’d seen any blood trolls. I lied, and said I had not. He then asked me about Chan’k’áak’náabo’, and we talked about him for a little while.
After he left, a Forsaken and a succubus walked into the Wyvern’s Tail. The succubus attacked a troll, apparently becuase she wanted him to teach her how to fight? She and the Forsaken were both injured, and another Forsaken and I took them out of the building.
I spoke to both of them for a while, and a tauren showed up. He claimed to have smoked a lot, and then became a bird. He turned back into a tauren moments later, then walked away, citing a house on fire. Frankly, I had no idea what was going on.
Eventually, the Forsaken and his demon left. I decided to write a letter to the blood elf whom I’d talked to on my first day in Orgrimmar, asking where to go in Silvermoon.
August 30, 2020
This city is weird.
There was a bear in the Wyvern’s Tail, and the bartender was trying to get it to move out from behind the bar. Eventually, he succeeded.
As this happened, I talked to a goblin woman about words that are the same forwards and backwards (her name was one.)
That’s actually about it.
August 31, 2020
People fight for stupid reasons.
I tried to go to Ashenvale, but I rememebered that the Kaldorei were not happy with the Horde, to put it lightly.
I decided to return to the Wyvern’s Tail, where a fight was going on. Apparently, an orc had taken a troll’s tusk, and another troll was trying to get it back, but I think there was something more complicated than that.
After the fight was over, a vulpera healed the troll, and I healed the orc. I thought they were going to fight again, but the orc decided to leave instead.
I think I talked to someone else, but, unfortunately, I don’t remember who.
September 2, 2020
Soup is good.
There was a pandaren outside of the Wyvern’s Tail selling noodle soup. It was very good.
Pherrax reminded me of his offer (which I remembered sounded suspicious.)
I also saw Ri’kavek in the Wyvern’s Tail, but unfortunately we didn’t talk much (it was probably my fault.)
There was a fight between an official prelate (who was drunk) and a demon hunter. I wanted to heal the latter after the former was carried away, but someone got there first.
September 3, 2020
Zor’umi found a void sludge thing.
He said it was in a crate. It somehow removed the color from a suit of armor.
Pherrax was also there, and after Zor’umi went to find food for the sludge (he named it Vanity), we went into the Wyvern’s Tail. I had to be careful not to admit to worshipping the Light as well as the Loa.
Later, I saw the demon and Forsaken from a few days ago. The latter was almost attacked by a vulpera, but I stood between them.
I had a fairly long conversation with them, plus two other Forsaken. I learned about demons, for one thing.
September 5, 2020
I do not think I should be here.
Paranoia, probably. Us trolls and the elves (of any variety) tend not to get along.
Silvermoon is nice, though. Nobody seemed to have any real opinion towards me, although a vulpera did wave.
I took a ship from Bladefist Bay to a place called the Sunsail Anchorage. I walked from there to a town – I think Fairbreeze is its name – and from there to Silvermoon itself.
I wandered around the city several times, until I eventually found the inn where I am now.
September 6, 2020
I am still alive.
Not that I doubted my survival, but… you know.
This city looks beautiful. I’m not sure how to expand on that, but it is.
There was another Zandalari in the area outside the inn. We talked about snakes and druidism. Then a nightborne (shal’dorei?) woman arrived. We spoke for a while also, about ourselves. She gave me some tips about the Plaguelands, and eventually left. I’m in the inn now.
September 7, 2020
I went outside of Silvermoon again today.
As I was wandering the city, I ran into Khaeris, to whom I had spoken on my first day in Orgrimmar. We talked for a bit, then she invited me to a tavern in a place called Rustberg, on the island of Tol Barad.
There were a few Alliance members there, but I didn’t have a chance speak to them. I did have something good to eat, but I don’t remember what it was called.
As we were there, Nerakka showed up and almost got in a fight with another Forsaken, but the other one left and he was forced to make Bryneth (the succubus) leave.
Chan’k’áak’náabo’ reappeared, and, because I cannot control it, I decided to go outside, because Chan’k’áak’náabo’ was not allowed either.
Nerakka and Bryneth were upset about something, but I wasn’t completely certain what. Eventually, I went back to Silvermoon.
September 8, 2020
I met someone again today.
As is expected, I forgot his name, but he and I had served together in the battle outside Icecrown Citadel. He is a Blood Knight, and recognized both the Argent tabard I wore and Alan’s name.
I walked through the empty part of the city to a place called Sunstrider Isle, then walked back.
In one of the inns, I met Erasdahl, the shal’dorei woman from a couple of days ago, again. We talked for a while about the Well of Eternity, the confusing nature of time, and the virtues of planning based on false information vs. not planning at all.
September 10, 2020
I went to the circus today.
There was a troll answering scientific questions, but the answers seemed… odd. There was an elekk and a giant bee named Beatrice (apparently a lot of bees have pun names.) Some people tried to ride a turtle and got thrown off. That was the end, but it was more interesting than it sounded.
Then I returned to Silvermoon. I met a vulpera who had worked with the Crusade in the past, and also fought the Alliance. We talked for a while about, among other things, Light’s Hope Chapel.
I think soon, I will go there and then walk all the way to Booty Bay. I understand it is a stupid idea, but I will do it anyway.
September 11, 2020
Chan’k’áak’náabo’ vanished today.
I found it, of course. As I was searching, Zor’umi found me and told me about some carnival tomorrow. As it was void-themed, I was initially disapproving, but I changed my mind.
We then went to get food. I ate a salad, and he ate mashed potatoes.
September 12, 2020
we went to that void carnival thing today. it wasn’t fun. some void child abductor tried to abduct Zor’umi.
Then, at the end, the organizer got posessed by N’zoth, who said that the Old Gods were still alive.
This is not at all terrifying.
September 14, 2020
There was a meeting today to discuss what happened at the carnival and its aftermath. Apparently, some intelligent, evil fungus was discovered and the only way to get rid of it is the Light.
Before the meeting, I met an undead dire Drakkari troll woman, whose name I’ve unfortunately forgotten. I made her some chocolate, which she enjoyed, despite its inferiority to my mother’s. I reccomended my mother’s store to her, and she said she would become her best customer.
Much later, I, a dwarf, a young shal’dorei, a demon hunter, and an orc woman went on patrol around the island. It devolved into myself and the shal’dorei reciting Alan’s The Raven to each other.
September 15, 2020
Today we had some kind of scavenger hunt, to get alchemical materials.
That’s about it.
September 16, 2020
I fought for the first time in a while today. I won one fight and lost two.
Then I made more chocolate for the Drakkari dire troll woman from a few days ago, and we spoke for some time.
September 17, 2020
Mushrooms are scary.
A ship of Alliance reinforcements was en route to Varok’s Watch when it sank. We were sent to recover them.
It was bad. The evil mushrooms made them start attacking each other. We found the wreck, and the land was covered in fungi. Some people seemed to be captivated by the spores, and claimed they spoke to them. I do not doubt it. We did, however, manage to escape.
I have a plan, though. I won’t write it here, in case the book gets stolen.
September 18, 2020
I guess mushrooms aren’t the only scary thing.
Moths were eating the crops on the island, so we were asked to stop them. We went to a forest where there were no animals, until a huge swarm of moths arrived.
We managed to defeat them, but one of them had a weird rock and I’m not sure what it was, but I really wanted someone to take care of it.
September 19, 2020
Some strange humming sound was drawing animals to the abandoned mine. We went to investigate.
We found the boards on the entrance extremely strong, and many small animals were harming themselves trying to get in. A fox dug a burrow, and found some kind of rock, but the burrow collapsed.
I, foolishly, along with another paladin, used Light magic on the boards, causing runes to appear. When they were hit by it, they sent us slightly back in time.
Somehow, more prodding returned us to what appeared to be the present. We were able to enter the mine, and, despite a lot of searching, nothing seemed wrong.
We went back to the woman who had ordered us to go to the mine, and she revealed herself to be a bronze dragon. Her assumption was that another dragon was causing this somehow.
September 22, 2020
Mushrooms being gone is also scary.
We went to go clean the shipwreck, but a dragon (apparently) had stolen most of the mushrooms.
We went to the Horde base, where people were speculating that there were spies among us. Scary.
Then there was a seminar, but I kind of zoned out.
September 23, 2020
Even dead, the moths can still do harm.
We found three cocoons with corpses in them, then something big flew by so we ran.
September 24, 2020
Apparently the scary mushrooms are somewhat personable.
We did an experiment, and discovered that humming makes them talk. They appeared to be recounting a conversation between two people – Maggie and Penny? – in Nazmir.
This is quite strange.
September 25, 2020
We got to cook today!
We made crab gumbo with some kind of spicy pepper (but not enough.)
Some spooky sha pandaren showed scenes from the past, and started surveys. Then, they invited some of us to join their theatre troupe, but the only people who did were, like sleeper agents? This is really weird.
September 26, 2020
We went to Bilgewater Harbour today to find some orb. It took us a while to find the bank, but when we did, there was a huge crowd outside. Al’tezuma, a Darkspear priest, tried to bribe the crowd to disperse, but someone said that we actually didn’t have money. As they were going to attack us, I picked Al’tezuma up and carried him away.
Once we got back to the bank, everyone else was attacking some gold elemental. With its defeat, we went to the military headquarters to find the orb. It made a lot of people want to have it, but we managed to shoot it into the ocean.
Then I appeared in some room. A whole bunch of people were there, including Jazaal, and there was also some short time person. They, after being attacked, sent us back a few minutes, and claimed that the bronze dragon who we’d met previously was actually evil. This is really, really weird.
September 27, 2020
We went to go find the source of the mushrooms today.
Instead, we helped a human paladin and a night elf druid find love. We did, however, learn that some weird bird was in control of the mushrooms, and as we learned that, all the birds went silent.
September 28, 2020
We had to go clear out some vines, but they made me have nightmares.
I do not want that.
I will not sleep.
September 29, 2020
We went to the Ghostlands to stop some mushrooms, and instead we found a Kaldorei woman (except she was made of mushrooms?)
Chan’k’áak’náabo’ left. I am so tired.
September 30, 2020
We had to go find some Forsaken?
They were kind of mushroomy.
October 1, 2020
Medicine is bad
We were trying to learn about healing
But instead we found an infirmary burned down
There was a sign in Common and Draenic and it said something about contamination.
October 2, 2020
We interrogated a dragon and a dragonsworn, which I think maybe is like a dragon priest?
undForsaken warlock, and I found a way to cleanse the mind of one of them
except it didn’t work exactly
it was extremely painful for him
I could have found a better way
October 3, 2020
Leileran (i think that’s his name), a young sin’dorei, was the bad guy the entire time
he took over our minds and made us fight each other to cover his escape
who can we trust now?
October 4, 2020
Apparently, like, half of us are secretly evil.
October 5, 2020
We’re in Northrend now. Why did I agree to this?
We split up – one group helped the Wolvar and the other the Oracles. We managed to catch some fish, and also cleanse their void corruption. We went from there to the Maker’s Perch, where we’re camping now.
October 6, 2020
this is terrible
and not good
an ancient titan facility
October 7, 2020
I found a little titan construct.
It is called Artificial Lexicon Assistant, or ALexA for short. It defines words and not much else.
We, but I didn’t do much, went to one of the pillars, and one of us (a druid who I don’t like) attacked another druid, who’d been corrupted.
Somehow, we were able to turn on the Maker’s Perch, and we cleansed the corruption.
I’m going to Icecrown, against my better judgement, in order to tell the Crusade about the rune that does the cleansing.
October 8, 2020
So, there was a… party… thing?
I went there.
ALexA was insulting me.
I actually danced, but I wasn’t any good.
October 9, 2020
The only real thing that happened today was that I fixed ALexA. She? won’t insult me as often anymore.
October 10, 2020
We infiltrated the Emerald Nightmare.
There was a bear, and we had to attach souls to moths?
It wasn’t good.
And then we went to the Faire. That was all right.
October 11, 2020
We went to go find Thelaadas Mosswing, who I think is evil?
There was a big spider, and a big moth, and first we fought both but then some people made the moth not evil.
I have literally no idea what is going on anymore.
October 12, 2020
The mushrooms were in Arathi.
A bunch of people were making the rune, and the rest of us were defending them.
We almost succeded. Their leader is still mushroomed, but the entire army is free now.
Thankfully, Stromgarde agreed to shelter them.
October 13, 2020
I am so tired.
October 14, 2020
How am I still awake?
October 15, 2020
We picked some flowers today? Evidently I don’t know a lot about flowers.
We are going to Nazmir tomorrow, and I am at home now. My mother wanted to help us, but I told her no. She made me take her sandal, though.
October 16, 2020
So, uh, hey. My name’s Poe. I’m a raven. Also dead, but that’s not as important. As Kholoc is currently indisposed, I’m gonna write this instead of him. Also, my partner owes me one for this.
Kholoc and a bunch of other people went to Nazmir to beat Penny Lovington, who is a nun, and also in charge of the mushrooms, and also dead, so we’ve got that in common. They found some disgusting mushroom giants, and talked to them in Morse code, somehow. They went past some ruins, but… well, there were two of the Chosen, who are the Old God servants, and they were disgusting. One of them looked like a failed fairy, and the other looked like a broken goblin. Then a tree showed up? I think it was a druid, who was also Chosen? Eventually, they managed to defeat them.
Then they got to a wall, and a bunch of paladins were stuck in it. They managed to free them by donating blood to the wall, but Kholoc didn’t. The paladins got freed, and so the Heroes went on to Lovington’s room.
She was standing there, holding a disgusting grub baby. She made people bite each other and then threw the baby into a pool of blood. It became big and crushed a lot of people. An elf died, unfortunately, but neither Kholoc nor I knew the elf. Kholoc almost did, too, but I intervened.
Eventually, the rune worked, and Lovington was cleansed. It was surprisingly sad. I made Kholoc go back to Varok’s Watch.
October 17, 2020
I had a really strange dream last night. I dreamt that I was a raven, in the Ghostlands.
Nothing else really happened today.
October 18, 2020
Oh, Light. Or maybe not Light.
We won. But did we?
We went into the mines, where some flesh monster had been moved to shut off magic. We went into the monster’s throat, where there were naga, Faceless ones, and cultists. We beat them, and then there was a dragon which acted like a very violent six-year-old. Somehow, one of us managed to purify it with garlic bread? I don’t know.
Then we fought Narcisssus, who was the leader. I barely did anything in the fight except that I think I stepped in the path of someone’s frost spell.
Then, we won.
And the world went away.
We almost did too.
Then a naaru appeared.
It asked us if we wanted to forget, but none of us did.
Then it said that there was no way to save Narcissus, and that that was somehow a good thing.
If I hadn’t been there, we could have won.
We could have saved him.
It was my fault.

Hey. Poe again.
Kholoc’s asleep now, and I’m gonna keep him asleep for like a week. I’ll figure out how to have him drink something later.
Basically he just talked to people all day. He tried a type of Draenei wrestling called Jedi or something.
Then he sat around the bonfire. Kinda boring, I guess. Finally, he went back to Silvermoon and sent a letter to Khaeris.
Thank you so much to everyone involved in the Kingdom Come event! All of you DMs were excellent storytellers, and all of you had great characters. If you want a more detailed list of everything that happened, Peach on the Discord server made a really detailed spreadsheet of pretty much everything that happened. Again, thank you to everyone for making what was probably the best month or so of my life.

It’s been… four days since I woke up?
The first two days, I didn’t do much, though when I woke up I found a communication crystal that I thought had people trapped in it. As far as I know, it does not.
Yesterday, I went to Winterspring. I paid a magister named Bemlath, and he teleported me there, but very high in the air. I’m not sure how I survived, but I did. While we were there, we played Truth or Dare, and the water was magic, so we couldn’t lie.
Today there was a Hallow’s End thing in Felwood. Billie, who was on Varok’s Watch, was there, and we spoke for a while. There were a few things like at the evil Narcissus carnival, but as far as I know, it was not evil. Tevruden and Jazaal showed up later, but I left at the end.

I am just realising that I have forgotten to write in this.
A few days ago, there was a thing for Hanal Pixan in Dalaran, but I left fairly early.
The next day, there was a fight in the Wayfarer’s Rest, but it ended sort of abruptly.
Nothing else has really happened since then.

This is not written in Kholoc’s regular journal; rather, it is on the back of a page, hastily torn from the Green Hills of Stranglethorn by Hemet Nesingwary, and the script is messier than usual.
We should have killed them all.
It was my fault.
The Scourge are back. They kidnapped King Anduin, Lord Admiral Jaina Proudmoore, High Chieftain Baine Bloodhoof, and the former Warchief Thrall. They are also attacking Icecrown, as well as every other major city – Hearthglen, where I am now, has not yet fallen.
It was my fault.
I did not kill every single damned Scourge in Northrend, and now they are marching on the world again.
How many people will die because of my mistakes?
There is only one way to make amends.
This world is lost. I am going to find a way to get to Ulduar and use it to destroy the world. It is the only way.
No, that is wrong. We have to keep fighting.
We have to.
We have to.
We have to.
The page ends here.

We saved Hearthglen.
There were waves upon waves of Scourge, but we managed to stop them. I was injured, as were many others, but we had a lot of good healers on our side. I defended behind the town hall, along with, if I remember correctly, Buddy, Sister Rosefinch, Saelriel, Kóbor, Tents, and a pandaren and a gnome, neither of whose names I caught.
Then a Frost Wyrm appeared.
It kept flying over the city and breathing fire on us. It destroyed the tower, but it eventually landed. Once it did, we did a lot of damage to it, breaking off its wing, until Zebet, a Sunwalker (tauren paladin) beheaded it.
Now, I am back in Silvermoon. I wrote Khaeris a letter, as she had written one to me. I am going to go to sleep now.

It has been two weeks.
I am in Dazar’alor now. It is not good.
The hole that Sylvanas made in Icecrown leads to the realms of death themselves. I believed that there was an afterlife, of course, but to have actual confirmation is a whole other story.
Several of the people who were with me on Hell Island went through? I’m not sure exactly what happened with that.
I want to go, because from what I’ve heard everyone I didn’t save is now in “super hell.” I need to save them. I have to.

I have been working at the restaurant for the past few days. Everyone is a little worried, but we are getting by.
Except today we ran out of corn flour. I am going to go look for some.
December 9, 2020
I went to Dol’watha, to get some corn flour, but on the way back, I fell asleep on the brutosaur, and woke up at the Village in the Vines. I had to carry all five bags of flour – I could do it, because I have strength, but it was still annoying.

Yesterday and today, I went to something called the Frosty Festival. It was cold, and it was at Ulduar. There were not many people there, but there were a few. It was pretty fun. At the end, a band called the Good Apples (I know a few of the members) played.
December 15, 2020
A lot of people came into the restaurant today.
December 16, 2020
A young troll named Ixtli interviewed to work here. It is not my decision, but I think she will get the job.
December 19, 2020
I went to the Howling Fjord for a thing called the Nightmare Before Winter’s Veil. The name was fitting: I had some fun, but it was extremely cold and also there were very scary stories. I also got a bird.
December 26, 2020
My legs hurt.
Yesterday was Winter’s Veil, and a lot of people had ordered delivery. The saurids stole a few boxes, and the Raptari turned the box that was meant for the priests of Pa’ku into a box of old cheese. I do not even know how they did that.
Also I have been talking to Khaeris, so that is nice.
